Now, I know that there are times when you’re so busy that you really don’t have any time to stop and eat a nutritious meal.
For most people it’s not realistic to have a whole food meal 4 or 5 times per day. Therefore, a meal can consist of something simple such as a handful of mixed nuts and a piece of fruit or a protein bar.
Having said that, heres why you should make every effort to not miss meals.
Regularly missing meals in your diet will cause your metabolism to slow down, which will slow your fat loss efforts. To benefit from the thermic effect of food and to keep your metabolism humming at a fast pace, you must be constantly consuming, storing and digesting food.
When you skip a meal you turn off the calorie burning process and set your body to starvation mode, thereby causing you to store body fat. If you make skipping meals a regular habit, then I can assure you that you will be frustrated with your weight loss progress.
If you’re working out consistently then you should eat consistently. It’s really that simple.
Even if you’re super busy at your job and work long hours. If you’re truly serious about your fitness goals you will find a way to get it done.
Wake up an hour earlier than usual and eat a proper breakfast consisting of some complex (good) carbs, healthy fats and protein.
Have lunch at work (no fast food). If your place of work does not have anything healthy then cook your food the night before and take it with you to work.
Have your healthy snacks in between breakfast and lunch and in between lunch and dinner.
And remember, stay consistent and you’ll literally be melting all of your stubborn pounds in no time.
